Types of fish:
  • Bony fish: with bones.
  • Cartilaginous fish: without bones, they have cartilage.

6º LIVING BEINGS (2ª PARTE)

TYPES OF LIVING BEINGS

Depending on the number of cells and their complexity, we can find:

  • Unicellular living beings. They are made up of ONE cell.
  • Multicellular living beings. They are made up of MANY cells.

THE FIVE KINGDOMS OF LIVING BEINGS

  1. Animals: many cells and very complex (mammals, fish, reptile...).
  2. Plants: many cells and very complex (trees, bushes and grass).
  3. Monera: this kingdom contains bacteria. They´re unicellular and haven´t got nucleus. We need a microscope to see bacteria. They´re simple and small but very powerful (live in extreme conditions).
  4. Protoctista: this kingdom contains protozoa and algae. They can be unicellular and multicellular
        1. Protozoa: unicellular, heterotrophic and with nucleus.
        2. Algae: unicellular and multicellular. The performs the photosynthesis to obtain nutrients (autotrophic). They produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide.
  5. Fungi: they cannot make their food like plants, they are heterotrophic. There are unicellular and multicellular fungi. Some fungi are microscopic (yeast) and another ones are bigger (mushrooms).
